Paul Hobbs Wine Tasting Event: Paul Hobbs has built a career around the belief that exceptional wine begins with an intimate understanding of the vineyard. Raised on a family farm in upstate New York, Hobbs originally pursued science before discovering wine, eventually studying viticulture and enology at the University of California, Davis.

His career in California began during a transformative period for Napa Valley. Hobbs joined Robert Mondavi Winery, where he worked on the team responsible for the inaugural Opus One vintage, gaining experience at a project that brought together Napa Valley and Bordeaux winemaking traditions.

After working with several influential California wineries, Hobbs established Paul Hobbs Winery in 1991. His approach emphasized small-lot production, meticulous vineyard management, indigenous yeast fermentation, and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing individual vineyards and growing regions to remain at the center of each wine.
