OVID Napa Valley Wine Tasting Event: Founded by Mark Nelson and Dana Johnson, OVID Napa Valley was created with a vision centered on experimentation, continuous evolution, and an uncompromising expression of its remarkable mountain estate. The winery takes its name from the ancient Roman poet Ovid, whose Metamorphoses explores the idea of transformation—a philosophy that became fundamental to the estate’s approach to wine.

The OVID estate sits high on Pritchard Hill, overlooking Napa Valley from an elevation of approximately 1,400 feet. The rugged mountainside location, rocky volcanic soils, elevation, and exposure create demanding growing conditions that naturally limit yields while producing intensely concentrated fruit.

The estate was planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, providing the foundation for OVID’s Bordeaux-inspired wines.
