Old Forester Whiskey Tasting Event: Old Forester’s history dates to 1870, when George Garvin Brown founded the brand in Louisville, Kentucky. At a time when whiskey was commonly sold by the barrel and quality could vary considerably, Brown made a commitment to consistency by selling Old Forester in sealed glass bottles and placing his signature on the label as a personal guarantee of quality.
